One25 is a Bristol-based charity for women trapped in street sex-work and for those who are building new lives away from the streets. They provide specialist support to around 240 vulnerable women each year.
Last week we closed the office for a day to support the charity over 24 hours. Panacea split into 3 teams and we were set different challenges in the style of "The Apprentice". The challenges involved asking businesses to sign up to pledge £125 by December, selling their charity cake cookbooks, we also went out and about on the streets of Bristol. In the lead up to the event we were set the red paperclip challenge and Gabriella even managed to trade up from a red paper clip up to a 3-night break in Valencia which was then auctioned off to raise money.
It was a great day and the teams really enjoyed getting involved and working together. There were different approaches such as going into shops & cafes and pitching. The winning team won by getting 13 friends & family to sign up to the sponsored events as well as selling the cookbooks.
Congratulations to Louie, Justina & Soph on winning. Everyone was so happy to take part and support this very worthwhile cause in any way possible.
We approached business out and about in Bristol and would like to say thank you to a couple of businesses in particular - The Mall Deli, Clifton Village, Glitch, Old Market, Jan Morrison at Antiques & Objects D’art and Old Market Plants.
In addition to the great work carried out on the day, we also made connections with businesses to support ONE25 in the future and we hope that this can have a lasting impact.
Panacea are very proud to work with such a fantastic local charity and we will continue to support them.
If you are interested in getting involved in any of their fundraising challenges (we would highly recommend the Directors Challenge) then please find more information at https://one25.org.uk/
