Junior Electrical Engineer / Kent / £24,000 - £28,000 / + Travel Allowance
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior person starting their career within either the lighting, or electrical engineering industry!
We are working with an excellent Building Services company, which works on a wide range of projects from Lighting Design, to CCTV, Fire Safety and IT systems. This business has been established and growing for 15 years, and is now looking to take on a young trainee into the team in order to help them grow and develop within the team!
You will be working on a wide range of projects as outlined above, working on drawing site plans for a wide variety of buildings, using CAD to design the cabling layouts, and ensuring that all areas of the project are specified correctly in order for the building to go smoothly. This will involve looking at all the different elements within the building, for example where the existing Fire Safety systems have been installed, understanding what needs to be enhanced or replaced, and having all the dimensions correct in order to make an accurate design.
This role will largely be office based, creating CAD diagrams to plan the rooms, Amtech calculations to plan the cabling and estimate the electrical power and consumption, as well as Dialux or Relux calculations to plan the light levels within the room when needed. You will also be involved with going onto site alongside the more senior engineers in your team, surveying the building, identifying needs and faults, and speaking with the Clients, Architects, Project Managers, and Contractors.
This is a very exciting role for somebody looking to build their career. Applicants can come from either an Electrical Engineering background, with a HNC or HND equivalent qualification, or from a Lighting Design background with an interest in technical projects and engineering. This is a well rounded role with a vast variety of projects, giving you the opportunity to become a hub of knowledge and experience within the industry.
Plenty of training and mentoring will be provided, so as long as you are a keen, hard working person with a friendly attitude and wants to be part of a close knit team - this is the opportunity for you!
