Lighting Product Engineer / Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience) / South East
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established and massively growing company within the Lighting industry. The business has been going through a period of growth and expansion on all fronts due to their continued success, and is now looking to get more excellent people into the business to enable to continue to grow long term. They are a British manufacturer, working on exciting and creative projects such as restaurants, high end residential, and superyachts, with the capacity to create specialist and bespoke products to order.
We are looking for a person with experience working within the lighting industry designing lighting products and luminaires, with an understanding of the manufacturing process.
You will be part of the product design team, working alongside them in developing both bespoke and standard products. This will involve heavy use of 3D design software, with Solidworks experience being a bonus. With your background and understanding of the manufacturing and assembly process, you will be helping to ensure that all designs made by the team are technically accurate and suitable for manufacture, and advising them about areas of improvement.
Once your designs have been finalised, you may be involved with the hands of prototyping and testing of the product to ensure it performs well. This will be fully trained within the role for those who do not already have experience of testing procedures.
Alongside this you will also be speaking with suppliers, to discuss technical requirements such as the best materials to use for a component, manufacturing processes and establishing prices.
There is plenty of opportunity for an ambitious person joining this company to grow and progress in their career, whether that be to a Senior Design level, Product Manager, or a different avenue! This is a forward thinking business which places people at the heart of their operations, and wants to support them as much as possible so that they can succeed.
Candidates must have some level of experience or understanding of lighting manufacturing, and applicants with a purely product design background will not be accepted.
