Principle Lighting Designer

£37k-£46k - Car Allowance - Flexible Working - Manchester

This is an exciting opportunity in a market leading, worldwide multidisciplinary looking for a Principle level Lighting Designer to join their team. 

The business has been growing strongly over the past 5 years, and with the success of winning more projects has come the need to expand the team. The salary bracket is flexible with the level of skill and experience that you bring being reflected with a competitive offer for the right candidate.

You will be working within a team of 6 other lighting designers from a mix of backgrounds and levels of experience, working on a variety of projects including Commercial, Education, Retail, Hospitality and more. You need to be able to hit the ground running, with a solid knowledge of Dialux or Relux, and CAD and at least several years experience within the industry, drawing up designs and lighting calculations. You will be responsible for working on projects from beginning to completion, creating conceptual drawings and presenting them to clients, talking and working alongside them throughout.

The more experience you can bring to the role, the more responsibility you will be given to help shape the team, making influential decisions and fostering client relationships. As a Principle level Lighting Designer, you will have the freedom and confidence to work independently. This involves maintaining close relationships with clients, finding and developing new relationships, and being able to present projects and plans to them confidently. You will also be responsible for developing those more junior than yourself in the team, helping them develop and sharing your knowledge and experience to improve their skills in all areas.

We are looking for someone who is experienced, a confident people person, who wants to work in a positive and open team environment. This role would be ideal for someone with a background working with a design consultancy, with a strong understanding of both technical specifications and creative design.
