Senior Product Designer / £36k - £45k / North London
This is a fantastic opportunity with a market leading Lighting Design and Manufacture company based in North London, who are looking to take on a Product Designer from within the Lighting industry, who has a strong technical and engineering knowledge. This is a market leading company which has been hugely successful in the UK, now operating at a £17 million turnover and continuing to pioneer British based manufacturing.
You will be looking at the company's high quality range of exterior lighting products, looking at their technical performance. Testing and developing new ranges and product portfolios from beginning to finish. This will involve creating an initial concept, strong use of CAD software, using primarily Solidworks in order to design the product itself, prototyping, researching materials and components, and liaising with suppliers and merchandising teams in order to source what you need in order to create the finished product.
We are looking for a person who is both technically adept - with a degree or HNC level qualification in engineering being ideal. Creativity in design is a huge bonus in this role, but technical understanding is a must. An applying candidate must have many years experience designing working closely with a manufacturer, and understand the processes that this involves. You must also have a strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software, with Solidworks being ideal, but strong experience with alternative softwares such was ProEngineer, Solidedge and Autodesk Inventor also being considered.
This role is hugely exciting, and you will even have access to the company's testing laboratory, getting to oversee many of the testing processes. You must be excited by the prospect of learning about new technology, and developing new processes which this role will give you plenty of opportunity to do so!
